ミャンマー人による映像制作・ジャーナリズム支援をする団体Docu Athan （ドキュ・アッタン）として、初のクラウドファンディングに挑戦します。

今年はタイの国境に事務所を設立し、そこで命懸けで前線を取材するジャーナリスト、記憶を風化させないために作品を作る映像作家、厳しい状況でも自分たちの表現を追求している画家やミュージシャンなど…さまざまな想いに触れてきました。

2年前、私自身もミャンマーで撮影中、軍によって拘束されてしまいました。
禁固10年の判決を下されながらも、わずか111日間後に解放されました。
早期解放が実現できたのは、署名活動など支援してくださった方々のおかげです。
しかし、私が解放されてからも、ミャンマーではジャーナリストたちが次々と命を狙われ、また拘束されていきました。
現在、ミャンマーは世界で2番目（中国に次ぐ）に多くの記者が拘束されている国です。

表現の自由を奪われるとはどういうことか…身をもって経験した私だからこそ、弾圧される表現者たちを支援したいと考えています。

As Docu Athan, an organization that supports video production and journalism by Myanmar people, we are attempting our first crowdfunding.

This year, we set up an office on the Thai border, where we have been able to encounter a variety of thoughts, including journalists who are risking their lives to report on the front lines, videographers who create works to keep their memories alive, and painters and musicians who pursue their own expressions even in difficult situations.

Two years ago, I was arrested by the military while filming in Myanmar.
I was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but was released after only 111 days.
I was able to achieve my early release thanks to the people who supported me through petition campaigns and other activities.
However, even after I was released, journalists in Myanmar continued to be targeted for death and detained one after another.
Currently, Myanmar is the country with the second highest number of detained journalists in the world. (After China)

What does it mean to be deprived of freedom of expression? I have experienced it myself, so I want to support those who are being oppressed.
